The Uists can be reached by ferry (to Berneray, Lochmaddy, Lochboisdale or Eriskay - bookings through Caledonian MacBrayne ) or plane (to Benbecula Airport - bookings through British Airways  or Loganair ).

Coming from Lochmaddy ferry terminal / Benbecula airport

Following the main road/sign posts, head to the Isle of South Uist (main direction: Lochboisdale). As soon as you have passed the causeway to South Uist (sign-posted Uibhist a Deas), stay on the A865 for another 2 kms (1.2 mls) and then turn left towards Lochcarnan. Follow the small road for another 2.5 kms (1.5 mls), passing the Old School House on the left. Shortly after, you will reach Lily Pond Cottage, which lies on the left as well.

Coming from Lochboisdale ferry terminal

Head northwest on the A865 main road towards Benbecula/North Uist. After 30.5 kms (19 mls) turn right towards Lochcarnan. Follow the small road for another 2.5 kms (1.5 mls), passing the Old School House on the left. Shortly after, you will reach Lily Pond Cottage, which lies on the left as well.
